ICU RN Travel Assignment
Overview
- Location: Watertown, Wisconsin
- Employment type: Travel
- Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
- Float requirement: May float to medical/surgical
Unit Details
- Specialty: ICU
- Trauma level: 3
- Bed count: 4 ICU beds
- Patient population: Geriatric and adult patients only
- Typical patient ratios: 1 RN to 2 ICU patients, or 1 ICU patient plus 1–2 medical patients; if floated to the medical floor, 4–6 patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Knowledge of ventilators
- Knowledge of central lines
- Knowledge of arterial lines
Required Skills / Experience
- Chest tube experience preferred
Common Diagnoses / Treatments
- Sepsis
- ETOH withdrawal
- COPD
- DKA
- Post-heart catheterization patients
Additional Notes
- ICU may take medical overflow patients when needed
- Black, navy, grey, or Caribbean blue scrubs are required
- Sweatshirts and fleece are not allowed
