NICU RN Travel Assignment
Job Overview
- Specialty: NICU RN
- Location: Dallas, Texas
- Employment type: Travel
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Hours per week: 36
- Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS
- NRP
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Experience with preemies at least 28 weeks and above
- Management of central lines
- Respiratory management up to and including intubated patients
- Experience caring for surgical patients
- Experience caring for cardiac patients
- Care of tracheostomy infants
- Experience with broviacs
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
- CVICU experience
Unit Details
- NICU with 108 beds
- Patient ratio: 1:1 to 1:4
- Staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
- Uses CPN and Meditech for documentation
- Equipment includes nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, vents, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, warmers, and isolettes
Floating
- May float before staff to PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU
- May care for patients under 2 years old
Additional Notes
- Required uniform: royal blue scrubs
- Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations
