RN - Emergency Dept

Overview

• Travel RN position in Tennessee
• Specialty: MS-Detox
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Weekly orientation on Mondays
• Candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered travel

Schedule

• Every other weekend and as needed
• No call required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• BLS
• PALS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience

• Experience with CIWA/COWS
• ER experience will be considered

Unit Details

• Detox unit
• 13 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:7
• Ages 18 to geriatric, with occasional 17-year-old patients

Clinical Skills and Work Setting

• Patient care across all ages
• Bedside shift report
• IV access
• May be required to float to other departments as needed
• Experience with bedside procedures such as PICC lines and midlines is preferred

Common Patient Conditions

• Substance abuse and polysubstance abuse
• ETOH
• Underlying behavioral conditions
• Hypertension
• Syncope
• Seizures
• Liver disease
• Cognitive changes
• High fall risk

Equipment and Systems

• IV pumps
• Zoll monitor
• IV catheters
• HMS/Medhost

Dress Code

• Any solid-color scrubs
• No outerwear with logos or prints other than hospital logo
• No hoodies
• No open-toed shoes
• No T-shirts except on specified days
• No jewelry or items that could be pulled out, used to choke, or used as a weapon
