Travel RN — PCU

Location

• Hermitage, Tennessee

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• Travel assignment

Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• EKG rhythm interpretation experience
• Cardiac drip experience
• Insulin drip experience
• Heparin drip experience
• Peripheral IV skills

Preferred Experience

• Peritoneal dialysis experience

Clinical Setting

• Progressive care unit with 34 beds in one section and 25 beds in another
• Typical patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights

Common Patient Care / Unit Experience

• Bipaps
• High-flow oxygen and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Stroke care
• Post-cardiac cath care
• Tube feedings
• NG/Dobhoff tubes
• Thoracentesis
• Paracentesis
• Chest tube insertions
• Dobhoff/NG tube insertions
• Central line dressing changes
• Wound vac troubleshooting

Documentation

• Meditech

Additional Notes

• Black scrubs required
• Uses tech support on the unit
• Hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights
• Communication boards and AIDET are used
• Peritoneal dialysis is performed on the unit
