RN - Rehab

Overview

Travel RN position in Salem, Virginia
Specialty: Inpatient Rehab
Contract length: 13 weeks
Hours per week: 36
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
May float to other Med Surg departments

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS
2 years of rehabilitation experience
Rehabilitation experience within the last year
Experience in an Inpatient Rehab setting

Preferred Qualifications

Med Surg experience

Unit Details

35-bed unit
Typical patient ratio: 5–7:1
Tech support is based on census, usually 2–4 techs
Uses Meditech for documentation

Common Responsibilities / Procedures

Medication administration, including IVs, PICC, PEG tube administration
Bladder scans and bladder irrigation
Trach care
Tube feeding
Foley catheter care
Blood administration

Equipment

Vitals machine
Baxter IV pumps
SCDs
Bladder scanner

Dress Code

Navy blue or white solid scrubs
