RN - Oncology

Job Overview

  • Location: Dallas, Texas
  • Employment type: Travel
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Start day: Tuesday starts

Unit Details

  • Specialty: Oncology
  • Patient ratio: 4:1, up to 5:1
  • Bed count: 41
  • Shift coverage: Day shift has 1 charge, up to 5 RNs, and 2 PCTs per floor; night shift has 1 charge, up to 5 RNs, and 1 PCT per floor
  • Weekend/on-call: Rotating

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Oncology (1 year of experience)
  • Oncology experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Solid understanding of blood and electrolyte replacement process protocols

Key Skills

  • Sterile dressing changes
  • Infection prevention
  • Blood and electrolyte replacement protocols

Preferred Experience

  • General medical oncology knowledge
  • Familiarity with ports and central lines

Work Environment

  • Uses Baxter pumps
  • Meditech EMR
