Unit Details

Specialty: Oncology
Patient ratio: 4:1, up to 5:1
Bed count: 41
Shift coverage: Day shift has 1 charge, up to 5 RNs, and 2 PCTs per floor; night shift has 1 charge, up to 5 RNs, and 1 PCT per floor
Weekend/on-call: Rotating

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Oncology (1 year of experience)
Oncology experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Solid understanding of blood and electrolyte replacement process protocols

Key Skills

Sterile dressing changes
Infection prevention
Blood and electrolyte replacement protocols

Preferred Experience

General medical oncology knowledge
Familiarity with ports and central lines

Work Environment

Uses Baxter pumps
Meditech EMR
