Registered Nurse, Operating Room
Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: 40-hour day schedule, 4/10-hour days with call rotation
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Operating room nursing experience is strongly preferred
- CNOR is strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation, and patient/family teaching
- Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy
- Collaborate with the surgical team during procedures
- Maintain sterile technique, aseptic practice, and proper handling of supplies, instruments, specimens, and cultures
- Verify patient identity, consent, procedure, and surgical site before surgery
- Maintain sponge, needle, and instrument counts
- Support patient safety, privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with hospital policies and regulations
