Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Med Surg (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in a(n) Acute Care or Inpatient setting
- Basic dysrhythmias
Unit Details
- 24-bed unit
- Patient ratio: 6:1
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
Preferred Experience
- Worked at a trauma center
Clinical Skills and Procedures
- IV access management
- Central line management
- Foley catheter management
- NG tube management
- Drain management
- Wound care and ostomy management
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Chest tube management
- EKG
Work Environment
- Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 2 PCTs, and 1 unit clerk
- Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, and 2 PCTs
- Uses Meditech
Dress Code
- Royal blue scrubs
- Black pants allowed
