Job Overview
- Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
- Employment type: Travel
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Hours per week: 36
Unit Details
- Unit type: Med/surg
- Bed count: 8 inpatient beds plus 8 admission unit beds, with occasional flex up to 12 inpatient beds
- Patient ratio: Up to 6:1
- Shift staffing: Day and night shifts each include 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 1 PCA
- Weekends: Normally rotating weekends, as needed for travel RNs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIH Certification
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of acute med/surg experience within the last year
- Ortho or neuro-surgery background
- Med/surg/telemetry background
Responsibilities
- Care for med/surg patients
- IV insertions
- Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
- Central line maintenance
- Medication administration
- Communication with the care team
- Documentation in the EHR
