CVICU RN

Overview

Travel assignment in Charleston, South Carolina
13-week contract
48 hours per week
Unit: 65020 ICU
28-bed mixed ICU
Travelers are first to float; float destinations include the emergency department and PCU for PCU or ICU holds
Schedule includes 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, every other weekend, and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
Navy uniform required

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in South Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
36 months of RN experience
1 year of ICU experience
CVICU (3 years of experience)
CVICU experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
Ventilator management experience
CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience
Advanced hemodynamics experience
Phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

BSN
Advanced Certifications
TNCC certification
Experience with Meditech

Clinical Experience / Skills

CRRT
Advanced hemodynamics
Phlebotomy
Administering breathing treatments outside the ICU, including inhalers and nebulizers
Post-op day 0 CABG
Impellas
Balloon pumps
Swan Ganz
Neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
EVDs
Bolts
Codman
Artic Sun with induced hypothermia
Head and neck flap procedures

Additional Notes

Bedside shift report is used for handoff
Travelers may be trained to become a Neuro ICU nurse or Cardiovascular ICU nurse
