RN PCU
Overview
- Travel RN role in PCU
- 29-bed unit in the Main Hospital
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- 1:4 patient ratio ideally, currently 1:5
- Staff self-schedule, with preference for 3 night shifts in a row
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Familiarity with cardiac drip and insulin drips
Unit Details
- Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and PCT
- Uses Meditech
- Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn VS machines, bladder scan, and vein finder
- Floating is to areas of competency
- Royal Blue Scrubs required
- No artificial/gel nails
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high quality, compassionate care
- VS every 4 hours, or more frequently based on patient condition
- Blood glucose checks as ordered
- Required documentation and assessment every shift
