RN MS/Oncology - Surgical Oncology Unit
Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Aurora, Colorado.
- Surgical oncology unit with 36 staffed beds.
- Rotating shifts, various days of the week.
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts.
- Weekend coverage required per unit needs.
- On-call not required.
- Floating is required as needed, including to sister facilities based on facility needs.
- First-timers accepted; teaching hospital experience is required if this is the candidate’s first travel assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association.
- 2 years of oncology experience.
- Oncology experience within the last year.
- Experience in an acute care setting.
- Experience in a teaching hospital setting.
- Surgical oncology experience.

- None stated.
Unit / Clinical Details
- RN MS/Oncology on the Surgical Oncology Unit.
- The unit primarily cares for patients with known cancer diagnoses needing surgical interventions or management of disease-related complications.
- Common procedures and diagnoses are related to the abdomen or pelvic area, including Gynecologic Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, and Stomach.
- No chemotherapy or biotherapy is administered on this unit.

- Charting system: Epic.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 and may flex based on staffing and unit needs.
- Scrub color: Navy.
