Overview

Travel assignment in Hermitage, Tennessee
Unit name: PCU
630 has 34 beds; 633 has 25 beds
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Tennessee
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
EKG rhythm interpretation experience
Cardiac drip experience
Insulin drip experience
Heparin drip experience
Peripheral IV skills

Preferred

Peritoneal dialysis experience

Unit Details

Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days; 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
Staffing includes 3 techs when full on 630 and 2 techs when full on 633
Floating may be between PCU units or to med-surg floors
Scheduling is every other weekend, with 3 12-hour shifts per week
Self-scheduling is used
Black scrubs are required

Peritoneal dialysis
Thoracentesis
Paracentesis
Chest tube insertions
Dobhoff/NG tube insertions
Central line dressing changes
Wound vac troubleshooting
