Overview

• Travel RN assignment in PCU
• Location: Hermitage, Tennessee
• Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Hours per week: 36

Unit Details

• PCU has 34 beds in one area and 25 beds in another
• Staffing includes 3 techs when full on one area and 2 techs when full on the other
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors
• Uses Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• EKG rhythm interpretation experience
• Cardiac drip experience
• Insulin drip experience
• Heparin drip experience
• Peripheral IV skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Peritoneal dialysis experience

Procedures / Clinical Experience on Unit

• Peritoneal dialysis
• Thoracentesis
• Paracentesis
• Chest tube insertions
• Dobhoff/NG tube insertions
• Central line dressing changes
• Troubleshooting wound vacs

Additional Notes

• Black scrubs required
• Unit does self-scheduling
• Uses hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights
• Communication boards are used on the unit
• Techs assist with patient care
