RN Cardiovascular Surgery
Overview
- Travel assignment in Asheville, North Carolina
- 13-week contract
- 36 hours per week
- Unit: CVOR
- Unit location: Heart Tower
- 6 ORs
- May float if needed, infrequent
- On-call shifts will be assigned and rotated among staff
- No first-time travelers
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS
- CVOR (2 years of experience)
- CVOR experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Extensive expertise and experience in the RN Circulator Role in cardiovascular surgery procedures including CABG, Valve Replacement, VAD Insertions, TAVR, VATS, Lobectomy, Pacemaker/AICD Insertions, Septal Myectomy, Ross Procedure, EVH, IABP Insertions, Femoral Cannulation, and Circulatory Arrest

Unit details
- All cases require 1 scrub and 1 circulator
- Pump cases also require a first assist/Heart Holder, which can be an RN or CST
- Staffing includes 1 Unit Secretary, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 PCA, and 1 Core Tech
- Stryker equipment
- Cerner documentation system
- Hospital provides scrubs
- Hospital surgical attire policy must be followed
- Unit guidelines and policies will be provided during orientation
- Not a training facility for medical staff; cases are very efficient
