PACU Preop RN
Overview
- Travel RN role in Los Alamos, New Mexico
- Rapid response need; candidates must be able to start 7–10 days from offer acceptance
- 1 opening
- 6-week contract
- 40 hours per week
- Day shift with some call on nights and weekends
- Shared position with Preop; no expectation to float elsewhere
Facility / Unit
- 47-bed acute care facility
- 3rd floor
- PACU / Preop unit
- 3 beds
- Patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2
- Primarily adult patients; ENT cases once a month
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Preoperative experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Preop and PACU experience
Call Requirements
- On call coverage on weekends
- Must be able to arrive at work within 30 minutes once notified of a case
Additional Notes
- Common diagnoses/treatments include appy and gallbladder cases
- Unacceptable attire includes open-toed shoes and fake fingernails
