PACU RN
Overview
- Travel RN role in PACU
- Shift: 7A–5P
- Location: Englewood, Colorado
Unit Information
- PACU (789)
- 17 pre/post bays total
- 3 full-time staff and 1 part-time staff
- Day shift staffing with PRN support
- Patient ratios:
- PreOp: 1:2
- PACU Phase 1: 1:1
- PACU Phase 2: 1:2
- Unit uses Meditech
- 8 PACU bays, 6 PreOp bays, and 4 ORs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- Experience working with Orthopedics patients
- PACU Call experience
- ACLS
- BLS
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of PT/OT instructions for joint patients
- Comfortable with bedside teaching
Procedures / Case Mix
- Total Joint procedures
- Sports Med
- Foot/Ankle
- Podiatry
- Hand and nerve cases
- General Surgery, including hernias, lap appy, and lap chole
- Breast cases with some plastic reconstruction, including mastectomy with tissue expanders or direct-to-implant cases
Work Environment
- Primarily ortho cases with some general surgery
- Team-oriented, flexible, dependable staff
- Beautiful, clean facility with experienced nurses and a dedicated anesthesia team
