CT Scan Technologist CWR

Overview

• Location: Old Bridge, New Jersey
• Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Hours: 3 x 12s, 36 hours/week
• Weekends required
• No holiday requirement
• On-call requirement: optional
• No float requirement
• Scrub color: Black

Role Summary

Performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of experience
• Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program
• High School diploma or equivalent
• NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
• ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning of the human body
• Understanding mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware
• Thorough knowledge of PACS system
• General CT with and without Contrast, CTAs, and perfusion
• Usage of GE Revolution CT Scanner

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months CT experience
• ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license

Certification Timeline

• ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire
• BLS within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs complex CT procedures
• Reviews patient history and documentation
• Prepares and reviews contrast questionnaires
• Identifies and/or administers contrast media as prescribed
• Verifies exam appropriateness and clarifies prescriptions when needed
• Verifies insurance authorization and sends modification forms for re-verification
• Obtains outside studies and schedules them in EPIC for comparison by Radiologists
• Provides exam copies to patients, requesting physicians, and/or family members
• Evaluates radiographs using PACS
• Prepares protocols for scanning and patient safety
• Preps patients for scanning
• Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures
• Monitors patients for adverse reactions during procedures
• Works scheduled shifts, holidays and weekends as needed
• Works overtime as needed
• Takes on-call assignments as needed
• Lifts at least 25 lbs, pushes and pulls at least 50 lbs, and stands at least 6 hours per day
