Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum
Overview
- Travel/Contract RN role in Aurora, Colorado.
- Unit has 32 beds.
- Typical ratios are 1:3 couplets, or up to 6 patients.
- Shift options: rotating, with an option for nights only; listed schedule is 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00 or 7:00–19:00.
- Call is required per unit needs.
- Weekend requirement is per unit needs.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- The unit serves postpartum patients who do not need ICU level of care, high-risk patients, antepartum patients with fetal monitoring experience, and newborn patients who do not need NICU level of care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Post Partum experience within the last year.
- 1 year of Post Partum experience.
- One completed travel assignment.
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure.
- Antepartum experience.
- Labor and Delivery experience.
- Does not accept first-time travelers.
- Does not float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Float required: Antepartum trained to float to L&D with fetal monitoring experience.
Patient Population / Clinical Scope
- 2000 gm and above.
- Late preterm.
- Substance-exposed newborns.
- Phototherapy.
- Magnesium drips.
- Insulin drips.
- Heparin drips.
- PCA and PCEA pumps.
- Breastfeeding support for postpartum patients.
