RN PCU
Overview
- Contract role in Zanesville, Ohio
- 13-week assignment
- Nights, 36 hours per week
- Start date is 11/16 unless the clinician is a returning traveler within 9 months
Unit / Setting
- Cardiac step-down / PCU
- Typical patient mix includes heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, post-op open-heart patients, and other cardiac/med-surg step-down patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS
- ACLS
- Cardiac Stepdown / PCU experience
- Minimum 3 years of Cardiac Stepdown experience
- Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
- Experience working with Post-Operative Open Heart patients
- Experience working with Post Cardiac Cath patients
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Experience with cardiac drips
- Experience with post-operative recovery
- Experience with Epic
Schedule / Work Expectations
- Typically every 3rd weekend
- Covers 1 holiday, subject to change based on census and staffing
- No on-call requirement, though a rare call day may be requested if census or staffing fluctuates
- May be required to float to other units during low volumes or coverage crises
Clinical Notes
- Ventilated patients are not typically admitted to this unit, but the clinician may need to care for one in rare circumstances
