Physical Therapist

Overview

  • Contract role in Alturas, California
  • Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
  • January start

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in California
  • Physical Therapist (3 years of experience)
  • Physical Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • Experience in Supervisory roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of previous experience in physical therapy
  • Additional languages preferred

Relevant Responsibilities

  • Directs physical therapy services under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy
  • Coordinates and supervises department operations
  • Administers physical agents prescribed by a referring physician
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities
  • Assists with budgeting and department performance versus budget
  • Reviews department charges and ensures patient charges are accurate and entered timely
  • Assesses patients, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations
  • Observes and evaluates treatment effect and recommends changes to the physician when needed
  • Provides patient and family education and includes family in teaching as appropriate
  • Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patient needs are met and hospital policy is followed
  • Trains personnel using on-the-job training for nursing, other hospital staff, and departmental staff
  • Maintains documentation standards, equipment safety, department cleanliness, and regulatory compliance
