Medical Surgical - Neuro
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Day shift: 4x12 hours, 6:30–19:00
- 13-week contract
- 32-bed unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- No call
- Floating to like units
- Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts within 6 weeks
- 36 or 48 hour option; anything over 48 hours is overtime
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- 1 year of Med Surg experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or RQI or American Safety and Health Institute
- NIHSS
- Unit accepts 1st time travelers
- Drivers License/State ID required
- Clear headshot required for badge
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test required within 1 year of start
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Adult TDAP vaccine required within 10 years of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella immunization/titer documentation required
- Color blind testing required
- Work history verification required
- Employment application/resume required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Background check required
- Education verification required
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements
- E-Verify required for direct candidates; attestation required for sub candidates
Preferred
- CPI preferred
Additional Notes
- Epic charting
- Rapid response team activation
- Pending BLS and NIHSS are accepted
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, and NIH Stroke Certification are required as applicable
- Floating scope is to like units
