Emergency Dept RN

Overview

Travel RN role in the Emergency Department
Contract length: 13 weeks
Location: Salem, Virginia
Schedule includes 36 hours per week
No on-call
Weekend requirement: four weekend shifts in a four-week scheduling period

Unit Details

27 beds
Staffing includes 50 RNs and 25 medics
Patient ratio: 4-6:1
EMR: Meditech

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
2 to 3 completed travel assignments
2-3 years ER experience
ACLS
BLS
PALS
CPI

Preferred

Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced, high-volume ERs
Experience with patient ratios of 5:1
ENPC
NRP

Common Procedures / Clinical Experience

RSI
Sepsis interventions
Stroke protocol with tPA administration
Central line placement
Care of the psych patient
EMTALA transfers to other facilities

Floating

None

Work Environment

Dress code: navy blue or white scrubs
Team-oriented, respectful, friendly, and relaxed personality preferred
