RN ICU
Overview
- Travel assignment in Asheville, North Carolina
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Unit: CICU
- 16 beds
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, alternating weekends, 12-hour shifts
- Travelers float to all areas
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIH Certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with titration of vesicant medications
- Familiarity with pressors
- Experience with sedation
- Experience with paralytics
- Experience with ventilators
- Experience with trachs
- Telemetry interpretation
- Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation
Preferred
- CCRN
- IABP
- Impella
- CRRT
Unit Details
- RNs only; no HUC or PCT
- Equipment includes Vent, Telemetry, Baxter IV Pump, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and Hypothermia
- Procedures performed on the unit include Cardioversion, Central line insertion, EGD, Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube insertions, Pericardiocentesis, and Thoracentesis
Skills Sought
- Titration of Vesicant Meds
- Familiarity with Pressors, Sedation, and Paralytics
- Experience with Vents and Trachs
- Telemetry interpretation
- Understanding of Hemodynamics and PA Catheter setup and interpretation
- Transvenous pacing
- Cardioversion
- TEE
- Familiarity with chest tube insertions and maintenance
Additional Notes
- Scrub colors: All Navy or Navy and White
- No pullovers or hoodies
- No green scrubs except when uniform is soiled at work
- Must adhere to the listed uniform colors
