RN - Med Surg

Overview

Travel RN assignment in Salem, Virginia
13-week contract
Med Surg unit
36 beds
1:6 patient ratio
36 hours per week
Main Hospital building

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

Familiar with post-operative patients
Competent with dressing changes, wound care, and drain management

Unit Details

55 staff members
Day shift staffing: 1 clinical coordinator, 6 RNs, 3 techs, 1 unit secretary
Night shift staffing: 1 clinical coordinator, 6 RNs, 2 techs
Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs
EMR: Meditech

Typical Procedures

Care of the post-operative patient
Maintain drains
Wound care

Work Environment
