RN L&D

Overview

Travel assignment in Salem, Virginia
13 weeks
36 hours per week
Unit: L&D
Main Building, 2nd Floor
17 inpatient beds, 2 triage beds

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
AWHONN
Experience with IV insertion
Experience with lab draws
JADA and BAKRI knowledge
Experience with blood administration
Experience with nitrous administration
Proficiency in vaginal exams
Experience setting up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries
Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips
Knowledge of common OB medications
Experience circulating for C-sections

Preferred Skills

IV insertion
Lab draws
JADA and BAKRI knowledge
Blood administration
Nitrous administration
Experience with vaginal exams
Setting up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries

Unit Details

Patient ratio: 1:1-2
Secretary on dayshift only
No techs
Equipment: Monica Novii, Ambulatory (Telemetry) Monitors, GE EFM
Documentation systems: Meditech, Centricity
Floating: MB/Postpartum
Scheduling: 3 12-hour shifts per week; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; ready for huddle at 6:45
Willing to block schedule

ECV
C/S
Vaginal deliveries
Assist with vacuum or forceps as needed
Epidural placement
