RN Med Surg
Role Overview
- Travel RN assignment in Med-Surg.
- Unit: Med-Surg, Location 4S, Tower B, 4th floor.
- 24-bed unit with a 6:1 patient ratio.
- 36 hours per week.
- 12-week contract.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Med Surg (1 year of experience).
- Med Surg experience within the last year.
- Experience in an Acute Care setting.
- Basic dysrhythmias.
- BLS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Worked at trauma center.
Unit Details
- Day shift staffing includes 1 charge, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), 2 PCTs, and 1 unit clerk.
- Night shift staffing includes 1 charge, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), and 2 PCTs.
- Typical equipment includes BLS and NIHSS.
- EMR: Meditech.
Common Procedures / Responsibilities
- PIV insertion, management, and removal.
- Central line management and removal.
- Foley insertion, management, and removal.
- NG insertion, management, and removal.
- Drain management and removal.
- Wound care and ostomy management.
- Continuous bladder irrigation.
- Chest tube management.
- EKG.
Equipment Used
- Alaris IV pumps.
- Hoyer and Sarah Steady.
- Feeding pumps.
- Welch Allyn Vital Sign Machines.
- iMobile.
- Vein Finder.
- Virtual Admission RN (10a-10pm).
Dress Code
- Royal blue scrubs.
- Black pants allowed.
