Emergency Room RN

Overview

• Contract role in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin
• 36 hours per week
• Day shifts: 6a-6p and 8a-8p
• Rotating weekends

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• TNCC or TNS

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act
• Documents according to standards of care
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care
• Develops, initiates, and executes patient plans of care based on individualized needs and physician or clinic policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance
• Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
• Uses critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and escalates appropriately through the chain of command
• Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions, and peer review process
