ER (Adult)

Overview

Travel/contract Registered Nurse role in Rochester, New York
Night shift: 7p-7a, 3x12 hours
Contract length: 13 weeks
Every other weekend required
Every other holiday availability required, if needed
First-time travelers accepted
Local RN candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
Floating required within skillset

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
TNCC
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with IV therapy (blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs)
Experience with IV vasopressors
Experience with CPAP/BiPAP
Experience with ventilator management
Experience with cardiac monitoring (interpretation and management of dysrhythmias)
Experience with CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI
Experience with isolation precautions and triage
Experience with Epic

Required Clinical Skills

IV therapy, including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
IV vasopressors
CPAP/BiPAP
Ventilator management
CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care
Cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Adult/pediatric ED emergency care, gunshot wounds, and ortho trauma
Isolation precautions
Triage
Pediatric spinal cord injury

Unit Details

Adult emergency department
Ratios: 1:5
Patient population includes adults, geriatrics, and all emergency-type diagnoses
Special equipment includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
