Role Summary

• The role is for a Radiologic Technologist I responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
• Completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements
• Must possess New Jersey State License
• Must be able to meet the requirements for the National Registry and pass the examination

Key Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, selecting proper technical factors, and operating equipment for specific procedures
• Restrict the radiation beam using cone and collimating devices
• Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room
• Identify films correctly and mark side of patient
• Develop exposed x-ray film
• Complete patient requisitions
• Maintain the x-ray room
• Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist the physician in administering it
• Perform administrative duties related to scheduling, patient instruction, film filing, records, and reception
• Assist patients with moving, turning, and getting on and off x-ray tables
• Lift at least 5 lbs., push and pull at least 10 lbs., and stand at least 6 hours per day
• Adapt care to patient population needs, including age, culture, language, and hearing or visual impairment
