Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Tele

Location: Neptune, New Jersey Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Clinical

Role Summary

The Registered Nurse evaluates patients and assists physicians with patient care. Responsibilities include:

• Planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs
• Identifying patient needs and setting care priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Developing, implementing, and coordinating individualized plans of care through initial and ongoing assessments
• Performing therapeutic nursing interventions and managing patient care
• Documenting care according to standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities
• Advocating for evidence-based practice and supporting adoption of evidence-based care innovations
• Providing patient-centric care aligned with the professional nursing practice model
• Other duties as assigned

Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Pattern: 3 x 12-hour shifts (12 hours per day, 36 hours per week)
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Holidays: 3 of 6 holidays required
• On-call: No on-call requirement
• Float Requirement: Comparable units
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of prior RN experience in a MS/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting; strong MS/Tele background
• Education: ASN
• Certifications and Licensure:

  • NIHSS
  • Telemetry
  • BLS-AHA
  • CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
• Hard Skills: Patient assessment, medication administration, infection prevention, clinical procedures (e.g., wound care, IV therapy, Foley insertion), HAI prevention, regulatory compliance, EHR management
• Soft Skills: Communication and active listening, critical thinking, teamwork and collaboration, time management, adaptability and flexibility
