Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Overview

Location: Massena, New York
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 4 x 12 hours (7p-7a), 48 hours per week
Weekend coverage: Every other weekend (EOW)
Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:6, Nights 1:7, Weekends 1:8
First-time travelers: Does not accept first-time travelers
Local candidates: Accepted only if they live more than 50 miles away

Experience

2 years of experience required

Patient Diagnoses

COPD
Pneumonia
Non-specific abdominal pain
Cellulitis
Chest pain, rule out

Skills

Medication/Telemetry (MS/Tele) care
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Rapid Response/Code team use
Blood product administration
Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
Starting and maintaining IVs
CVA (cerebrovascular accident) care
Seizure disorders
Substance withdrawal
BiPAP/CPAP management and maintenance
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and nasal cannula
Non-invasive airway management
Oxygen administration, including oxygen tanks
Isolation precautions/PPE

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Med Surg / Telemetry experience (1 year)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Epic

Logistics

Scrubs: any nursing uniform color
Passport-style badge photo with a solid background
Review before start: patient confidentiality, sexual harassment prevention policy, patient experience training
Attestations for pre-employment compliance and health records completed with the clinical liaison
