Location: Plainview, Texas Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER) Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Facility

• Short-term acute care hospital
• 49 staffed beds
• Level IV Trauma Center
• Free parking in any unrestricted space

Schedule

• Day shift, noon to midnight, 12 hours per day
• Source lists both 3x12-hour shifts and 4 shifts per week, with 36 hours per week
• Block schedule required
• Weekends required as needed
• Not on call
• Does not float between units
• 48-hour weeks are not approved
• Expected nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4

Attire

• RNs wear navy blue scrubs
• OR attire provided; wear street clothes to the facility

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing

Background and Screening

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived or worked in the past 7 years; updated annually
• Background check includes SSN trace, death master index, county and nationwide criminal searches, national sex offender search, FACIS Level 3, and education verification
• Cancellation for open or active hits, any felony case, more than one DUI charge, or any sex offender hit
• Third-party education verification required; RNs must verify nursing degree
• Transcripts required only for RNs with international education
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• WA State Patrol/WATCH search is not applicable to this Texas placement
• 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant results accepted; no annual update required

Health Documents

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, DO, or APRN; must state free of infectious disease and ability to work with or without accommodation (specify any needed)
• TB: IGRA/QuantiFERON or 2 PPDs within 12 months of start; annual update requires 1 PPD or TB titer
• Positive TB history requires proof and a chest X-ray dated after the positive result
• Measles, mumps, and rubella: 2 MMR vaccines at least 28 days apart, or positive titer
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer, or signed declination
• Tdap within 10 years; declination accepted
• COVID: copy of latest vaccination record preferred; declination not required; candidates without documentation are treated as unvaccinated
• Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (9/1–3/30); declinations accepted
• Fit mask testing required, completed onsite unless a valid record exists within 1 year; any mask type accepted
• RespSafety clearance required annually for respirator use, completed through a virtual questionnaire
