Physical Therapist

Specialty: Rehabilitation Therapy Location: Lake Isabella, California Employment Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36 Shift: Day shift. 5 eight-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts are acceptable.

Setting

Patient care across acute, outpatient, skilled nursing facility, and emergency department settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and conduct individually designed physical treatment programs to maintain or restore function, alleviate pain, and prevent dysfunction.
• Perform and document initial examinations, identify problems, and determine diagnoses before intervention.
• Evaluate treatment effects over time and adjust treatments for maximum benefit.
• Administer manual exercises and therapeutic modalities.
• Oversee and direct care provided by physical therapy assistants.
• Assess patients of all ages, including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general populations, and reassess per policy.
• Review physician referrals and medical records, and contact physicians about changes or interventions as needed.
• Develop teaching plans that include family as appropriate.
• Train nursing and other hospital staff on-the-job when requested.
• Chart patient care in the facility's electronic medical record system.
• Participate in department operations, performance improvement, Quality Improvement activities, infection control, equipment training, and facility safety and fire safety programs.

Requirements

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California.
• Physical Therapist experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
