Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Rehabilitation Therapy)

Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist will implement patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength in an outpatient/rehabilitation clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Hold and maintain an active Physical Therapist license in California.
• Evaluate and treat patients using physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.
• Guide and monitor patient care throughout treatment and follow-up.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides in all aspects of patient care.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, co-workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations.
• Collaborate with front office staff on scheduling and patient follow-up.
• Make independent clinical decisions regarding patient care.
• Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures to protect patient privacy.
• Be familiar with billing policies and procedures, including Medicare, workers’ compensation, private insurance, and cash pay.
• Proficient in diagnosis (DX) and ICD-10 coding for billing purposes.

Physical Demands

• Ability to be physically mobile, including sitting, walking, and standing for 8-10 hour workdays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist patients with mobility restraints, transfers, and walking safety.
• Constant alertness to patient safety during all activities.

Work Environment

• Outpatient physical therapy clinic setting.
• No travel required.

Education & Licensing Requirements

• Degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Active Physical Therapist license in California or plans to obtain licensure soon.
• Continuing education courses preferred.

Compliance & Safety

• Must comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations.
• Expected to protect patient privacy and participate in privacy training.
• Responsible for reporting any privacy concerns or violations.
