Nursing Contract Opportunity - Fort Defiance, Arizona

Position Overview

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in the specialty applied for.
• Some positions may require more experience.

Department Details

• Emergency Department includes:

  • 11-bed Main ED
  • 6-bed ED Fast Track
  • 7-bed ED Observation Unit
• Nurses rotate regularly through all ED areas.
• Assignments may include Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening.
• Daily area assignments with possible shift rotations depending on patient volume and unit needs.
• May assist with Covid testing and immunization clinics as needed.

Shift Information

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Schedule typically 7 days on, 7 days off.
• Hours alternate weekly between 36 and 48 hours.
• Maximum of one week Return to Office (RTO) if needed.
• Shifts may change during the contract to cover day or mid shifts.
• Travelers may be expected to float to other qualified departments, performing patient care or task-oriented duties (e.g., answering call lights, phones).

Required Certifications

• American Heart Association BLS
• ACLS
• PALS or ENPC
• TNCC
• Conscious sedation certification (obtained through facility after confirmation; fee applies)

Additional Information

• Orientation is held on Mondays only.
• Travelers missing compliance deadlines will be rescheduled to the following Monday.
• Floating to other departments may be required based on qualifications and competency.
