Job Description

• Flex RN role floating between various medical and surgical units including:

  • Medical Unit
  • Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute)
  • Cardiovascular Unit (rarely)
• 12-hour day shifts (06:45 to 19:15), scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation
• No guaranteed hours
• Equipment used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes

Experience & Licensure Requirements

• Required Specialty Experience: 10 years (highest stated range 2-10 years)
• Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of assignment
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC

Unit Details

• Bed counts:

  • Medical Unit: 77 beds
  • Laulima Unit: 18 beds
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
  • Laulima Unit: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
• Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves

Orientation & Additional Information

• Orientation provided for each unit
• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
• Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs)
• Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity documentation will not be accepted
