Nursing Contract Opportunity - Hilo, Hawaii

Employment Type: Contract
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Role: Flex RN floating between various medical and surgical units
Units: Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), Cardiovascular Unit (rarely)
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15)
Hours: Scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation; no guaranteed hours
Orientation: Provided for each unit
Equipment Used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes

Requirements

Licensure: Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of assignment
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC preferred
Experience: 2 to 10 years nursing experience (use 10 years as the required minimum)
Prior Travel Experience: Not specified as required

Unit Details

Bed Counts:
- Medical Unit: 77 beds
- Laulima Unit: 18 beds
- Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
- Laulima Unit: 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
- Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves

Additional Information

Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday
Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity will not be accepted without documented proof
