Description
Radiation Therapist - Radiation Oncology
Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist treats cancer patients using x-rays, responsible for precise patient positioning to deliver radiation accurately to the targeted area.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- No weekend work
Responsibilities
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescription and standard procedures
- Precisely position patients relative to radiation beam and treatment area
- Observe and assess patients for clinical changes and report complications
- Apply principles of radiation physics, interactions, and protection (wear radiation film badge)
- Complete Quality Assurance tracking and maintain records
- Perform pain assessments and take appropriate actions
- Other duties as needed to support the department
Required Certifications
- Radiation Therapy Certification from North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners (prior to start)
- ARRT Certification (within 6 months of start)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (prior to start)
- ND Conditional/Temporary permit accepted prior to start
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiation Oncology specialty
- Recent travel experience required; preferably 3 completed travel assignments
- Epic experience required
Licensure
- North Dakota license required
