Travel RN Opportunity - Texarkana, Texas

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Schedule: Weekend requirement every other weekend; float required for all Emergency Department (ED) locations
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Practice independently in the same or similar clinical setting
• Provide routine and complex nursing care
• Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegations
• Develop skills to manage contingencies in clinical nursing

Responsibilities

• Meet applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders)
• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
• Current RN license in Texas or compact license
• Current BLS (AHA)
• Current ACLS (AHA)
• Current PALS (AHA)
• Current TNCC certification

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty (Emergency Department preferred)

Orientation & Competency

• New experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire
• Precepted by trained staff with competency validations including ED-specific validation
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs
• Completion of annual competency verification required

Additional Information

• Float requirement: Must be available to float to all ED locations
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 1 year of specialty experience seeking a full-time travel assignment on night shifts in an Emergency Department setting.
