The Ortho/Spine Medical-Surgical Unit is a 54-bed department with 11 dedicated ortho/spine beds, caring for a diverse mix of post-surgical, trauma, and general medical patients. Nurses typically manage 1:5–6 patient ratios, supported by PCTs and RN/LPN teams. The unit utilizes Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, specialty beds, chest tubes, NG and feeding tubes, and Meditech for documentation. Requested Skill Set: Punctual, organized, and dependable team players with strong time management, communication, and critical thinking skills. Must Have: Active RN license, BLS, and 1 year of med/surg experience. Advanced Skills: Strong assessment, prioritization, and time management abilities. Procedures: General med-surg care, post-catheterizations, lap appy/chole, thoracentesis/paracentesis, spine and joint procedures, hemodialysis/peritoneal dialysis, and CBI. Certifications Required: BLS (required), ACLS (optional). Requirements:
Must have a valid TN RN License or Compact RN License in good standing
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience
Certifications Required: BLS (required), ACLS (optional)
Patient Break Down: all medical-surgical patients, orthopedic and spine patients on the designated floor, trauma patients, psych medical hold patients, etc.
Must Have:
Strong assessment skills
Excellent prioritization and time management abilities
Reliable, punctual, organized, and strong communication skills
Advanced Skills Needed:
Critical thinking
Time management
Ability to care for diverse post-surgical and trauma patients
