Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care Unit (CCU) Requirements Experience: Minimum of 2 years total RN experience; at least 1 year in critical care License: Active RN license (no pending licenses accepted) or Active Compact license Certifications: ACLS and NIH Stroke Certification required Unit Type: CCU (Critical Care) Beds: 20 Patient Ratios: 2:1 Documentation System: Meditech Equipment Used: GE monitors, Alaris pumps, Puritan Bennett ventilators Procedures on Unit: Bedside central line placement, massive transfusion protocol Advanced Skills Required: Management of arterial lines, venous/arterial sheaths, cardiovascular & vasopressor drips, and ventilated patients Patient Care Expectations: Provide safe, skilled, and compassionate care to high-acuity patients Scheduling Details Schedule: 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Floating Policy: Contract staff float before core staff Support Staff: Unit secretary on days and nights; occasional tech assistance Additional Information GE monitor upgrade completed Highest level of care unit in Sumner County Flexible scheduling available/wk

Description

Registered Nurse – ICU
Unit Name: CCU

Requirements:
Must have a valid TN RN License or Compact RN License in good standing
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience

Certifications Required: ACLS

Must Have: 1 year critical care experience, Meditech experience, ACLS, NIH certification

Advanced Skills Needed:
Ability to manage arterial lines
Management of venous/arterial sheaths
Cardiovascular & vasopressor drips
Ventilator management

Procedures Performed on Unit:
Bedside central line placement
Massive transfusion protocol

Unit Specifics:
Number of Beds: 20
Patient Ratios: 2:1 for CCU patients
Unit Staffing: Unit secretary on days & nights, occasional tech support

Equipment: GE monitors, Alaris pumps, Puritan Bennett ventilators

Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements:
36 hours per week
3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks

Floating Policy:Contract labor floats before core staff

Patient Experience Requirements: At least 1 year of critical care experience
