Travel Registered Nurse – ICU (SICU)

Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)

Requirements & Certifications

Minimum 2+ years of recent SICU experience

Active TN RN License or Compact RN License (no restrictions)

BLS & ACLS required

CCRN preferred

Cardiac critical care experience required

Must-Have Experience

Post–open heart patient care (1–2 days post-op minimum)

Hemodynamic monitoring

Experience with Impella (preferred)

CRRT experience strongly preferred

Participation in rapid response and Code Blue teams

Unit Specifics

Number of Beds: 12

Patient Ratios: ICU standard 1 RN : 2 patients, adjusted by acuity

Staffing Model:

1 unit secretary on dayshift

Primary RN staffing

Equipment: Standard ICU equipment, Impella, Hemosphere advanced monitoring platform

Documentation System: Meditech

Floating Policy: Travelers may float within the facility to PCU or Medical-Surgical units as needed

Scheduling Requirements:

Participative scheduling

Minimum 3 weekend shifts per month

Block scheduling not guaranteed
