$Must have a valid TN RN License or Compact RN License in good standings. The ICU at [Hospital Name] is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our critical care team. Qualified candidates must have an active RN license, ACLS, BLS, and prior ICU experience. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment. This 31-bed unit typically maintains a 2:1 patient ratio, with occasional 1:1 or 3:1 assignments depending on patient acuity and staffing. The unit is staffed with RNs, a dayshift unit secretary, and occasional nurse externs serving as techs. Equipment used includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000, with documentation completed in Meditech. Scheduling follows a four-week rotation with a minimum of four weekend shifts per schedule and limited self-scheduling flexibility, adjusted by management to ensure balance. Contract staff float first and may be assigned to Med/Surg if needed. Nurses are expected to deliver attentive, compassionate, and family-centered care at all times. Advanced skills required for this role include ventilator management, CRRT and SLED therapy, EVD monitoring, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. Procedures performed on the unit include insertion of central and arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions. Certifications required: BLS and ACLS./wk
