Description
FULL-TIME DAYS
The Pharmacist Supervisor oversees the employees and processes within the pharmacy. Additionally, ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. May also advise physicians on medication utilization. Responsible for the direction and management of daily pharmacy functions, drug stock, drug storage, drug distribution and the delivery of pharmaceutical care. Assumes primary responsibility for all pharmacy operations when the Director is not available thereby providing a leadership role to ensure the provision of pharmaceutical care and products to neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients of the hospital, including inpatients and outpatients. If so, assigned will also serve as the Pharmacist in Charge as designated by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and will perform all duties as defined in the Texas Pharmacy Rules for the Pharmacist-in-Charge of an Institutional Pharmacy (Class C). Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited College of Pharmacy
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master's Degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years or residency training; 2 years supervisory experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State Board of Pharmacy License
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: IV Admixture Certification
