We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) team in Yankton, SD. This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered care prior to surgical procedures.

Position Summary

The Pre-Op RN is responsible for preparing patients for surgical and procedural interventions by conducting assessments, providing education, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary surgical team to ensure safe and efficient care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive pre-operative nursing assessments

Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery

Review medical histories, lab results, and physician orders

Initiate IV lines and administer medications as ordered

Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and post-op expectations

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff

Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control, and regulatory requirements
