Tripod Partners is seeking an experienced RN to work on a busy Med Surg/ED unit. This has 21–30 beds with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. Nurses may wear any color or patterned scrubs, and no call is required. The unit cares for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, primarily inpatients (90%) with common diagnoses including respiratory conditions and CHF. Special procedures include post-joint replacement care.

Cardiac and circulatory services include blood administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, EKG and telemetry interpretation. The unit manages drains, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, Port-A-Caths, and wound VACs. Medications titrated or used as stable drips include amiodarone, antiarrhythmics, Cardizem, dobutamine, heparin, and insulin.

The hospital is a Level III trauma center with adult and pediatric ER services. Medical-surgical care includes general, orthopedic, rehab, and long-term care, and couplet care is provided for mother and baby. Avera requires a two-shift cancellation policy for 13-week contracts before guaranteed hours eligibility.
