Position Overview
NorTek Medical Staffing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time opportunity in Overland Park, Kansas within a specialized rehabilitation hospital setting. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting patients with complex medical conditions who require extended hospital care.
This position is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about patient-centered therapy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and improving communication and swallowing outcomes. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
Provide direct therapy services to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
Educate patients and families on therapy goals, home strategies, and safety recommendations
Collaboration & Program Development
Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and case managers
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
Contribute to the development and enhancement of speech therapy programs
Adapt therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of medically complex and critically ill patients
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
Follow hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings
Required Qualifications
Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of Kansas (or eligibility)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology typically required for licensure)
Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
Preferred Experience
At least 1 year of clinical SLP experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting
Experience with medically complex, chronically ill, or critically ill patients
Familiarity with swallow studies, dysphagia management, and cognitive-communication therapy
Comfort working across diverse patient populations and acuity levels
Work Schedule
Full-time position
On-site role in Overland Park, KS

Salary Range: $70,000 – $95,000 annually
