Description

Position: - RN-NICU
Location: New York, NY 10019
Duration: - 13 Weeks Contract (12*3 in a Week, 36 hours)

Shift Time: Day Shift 7 AM-7:30 PM, EOW Is Required.
 
Job Summary:
The NICU Registered Nurse provides specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III–IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role requires advanced neonatal clinical skills, strong critical-thinking abilities, and experience managing complex conditions, including therapeutic hypothermia (body cooling). The RN collaborates with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver safe, evidence-based, family-centered care.
 
Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity neonates in a Level III or Level IV NICU.
  • Perform detailed neonatal assessments including monitoring respiratory status, hemodynamic, feeding tolerance, and neurologic status.
  • Manage ventilators, CPAP, IV fluids, drips, umbilical lines, and advanced neonatal support equipment.
  • Perform and monitor therapeutic hypothermia (body cooling) for eligible infants (required skill).
  • Respond promptly to neonatal emergencies, including resuscitation and rapid clinical changes.
  • Administer medications and treatments based on neonatologist orders and neonatal protocols.
  • Document assessments and interventions accurately using EPIC (highly preferred).
  • Support family-centered care by educating and guiding parents throughout their infant's NICU stay.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control standards, neonatal safety practices, and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes.
  • Provide care aligned with unit census of approximately 18 infants in a 21-bed NICU.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience – Required
  • Experience in Level III or Level IV NICU – Required
  • Experience with neonatal therapeutic hypothermia (body cooling) – Required and must be listed on resume
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience – Required
  • Strong neonatal assessment and critical-care management skills
  • EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
Qualification:-
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
  • Active New York State RN License – Required
