Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Location: NEW YORK, NY 10037
Hours Per Week: 40.00 (5*8)
Shift Time: 4:00 PM-12:00 AM • Weekends/Holidays required
Duration: 14 weeks - Contract (Potential Extension)
Pay: $2499.6/ Week
Notes:
• Hospital-based clinical laboratory supporting inpatient and outpatient services
• Evening-shift laboratory operations with full diagnostic testing capabilities
Job Summary: The Clinical Laboratory Technologist performs a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses to support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions. This role requires strong technical expertise in hematology and chemistry, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during evening shifts. The technologist ensures timely, precise test results while adhering to laboratory standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
Responsibilities
• Perform clinical laboratory testing in hematology and chemistry in accordance with established protocols.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Analyze specimens accurately and report results in a timely manner.
• Perform quality control procedures and document results per regulatory standards.
• Follow laboratory safety, infection control, and compliance guidelines at all times.
• Identify abnormal results and escalate findings appropriately.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records within the laboratory information system.
• Assist with specimen handling, processing, and storage.
• Collaborate with laboratory leadership and clinical teams as needed.
• Participate in weekend, holiday, and evening shift coverage as scheduled.
Requirements
• Minimum 1 year of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience – Required
• Hematology and Chemistry experience – Required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Education: Bachelor's Degree – Required
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
License
• Valid New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (092) – Required
• Primary Source Verification via NYSED – Required
