Description

Position: - RN – Step Down
Location: New York, NY 10019
Contract Role:- 13 weeks
Hour: - 12*3 (36 hour In a Week)
Shift Time: Day Shift 7 AM-7:30 PM, EOW Is Required For local candidates (under 50 miles), stipend
Pay Rate:- $68.00/Hourly

Job Summary:
The Stepdown Registered Nurse provides intermediate-level nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and specialized clinical support. This role supports patient stabilization and recovery in a neuro-focused stepdown environment.

Responsibilities

Perform focused assessments and ongoing monitoring of stepdown-level patients.
Provide nursing care for patients with neurological and cardiovascular conditions.
Administer medications and treatments according to clinical protocols.
Monitor telemetry and escalate changes in patient condition as needed.
Document nursing care accurately in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of Stepdown and/or Medical-Surgical experience – Required
Neuro unit experience – Required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience – Preferred
Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience – Required
Cardiology, telemetry, and VAD experience
EPIC EMR experience highly preferred

Qualification

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
License: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License – Required
